2: Gesso Day

Doesn't look much different in photos, but the smell of two thick coats will curl your toes. 

Attempted a roller early on, but gesso's pretty heavy and canvas is more delicate than a hard surface, so had to abandon that after the rim and return to a 4" paint brush by hand. Unfortunately (for my arms, not objectively) probably going to need one more coat for complete coverage, and still need another go at the sides, which would be why the boards are still down.
