We are now going into the week that leads up to THE HOLIDAYS. I am (happily but fearfully) rather slammed, so have a week of winter paintings!

Above is a work by American Impressionist Redfield. In winter scenes it's all about finding the color in the light and in the shadows to give a sense of the right atmosphere, and Redfield was not only really good at this, but did it over and over in what appear to be dozens (at least) of winter scenes. He's a bit hard to pin down for a convenient collection of works, so just do a google image search for his name + "winter" and they'll pop right up for your perusal.
